Entry Requirements – BIT Degree Programme (UCSC, University of Colombo)

To be eligible for registration in the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree offered by the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), students must fulfill both the Academic and General Entry Requirements as listed below.

Academic Entry Requirements

You must meet one of the following criteria:

• GCE A/L Qualification:
  - Three passes in a single sitting at GCE A/L (after the year 2000), OR
  - Four passes in a single sitting at GCE A/L (before the year 2000)
• Equivalent Qualifications:
  Any other educational qualification recognized by the UCSC Senate as equivalent to the above, and you must pass the Selection Test (FIT exam) conducted by UCSC.
• FIT Programme Completion:
  Successfully passed all theoretical components of the Foundation in Information Technology (FIT) programme offered by UCSC.

General Entry Requirements (GCE O/L Level)

You must also meet one of the following:

• GCE O/L Qualification:
  At least six passes including Credit passes in Mathematics and English
• Equivalent qualifications accepted by UCSC:
  - Mulika Piriven Final Examination
  - Edexcel IGCSE
  - Cambridge IGCSE / O/L

Note:
- The Selection Test referred to above is the FIT exam.
- All entry qualifications must be approved by the Senate of UCSC on the recommendation of its Academic Syndicate.
