The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT@UOM) is a prestigious 3-year external degree offered by the Centre for Open & Distance Learning (CODL), University of Moratuwa. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements for BIT (University of Moratuwa)

Regular Entry (G.C.E. A/L Path)

  • G.C.E. O/L: Credit pass (C) or above in Mathematics (National Curriculum).
  • G.C.E. A/L: At least three (03) Simple passes (S) in any stream in one sitting (post-2000) or four passes in one sitting (pre-2000).

NVQ & Vocational Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 4 or Level 5: Minimum 1-year full-time qualification awarded by TVEC accredited institutes or Government Technical Colleges.
  • Credit pass (C) or above in G.C.E. O/L Mathematics and passing 6 subjects in one sitting.
  • *Aptitude test clearance required.

International Curriculum

  • Completion of O/L and A/L under international syllabi (Edexcel/Cambridge) equivalent to National O/L and A/L requirements.
  • *Aptitude test clearance required.

Lateral Entry Opportunities

  • SLIATE HNDIT Graduates: Direct entry into Level 3 (3rd year).
  • ITUM NDT in IT: Direct entry into Level 3 (3rd year).
  • UOM Diploma / Higher Diploma Holders: Direct lateral entry options into Level 2 or Level 3 based on completed modules.
